A change in seasons is sometimes bittersweet. There is sometimes relief that that stage of life is done, or that the weather goes from icy to crisp. But how much time passes before we long for what once was? Maybe it's the age of innocence: being a young girl with so much to discover and a naiveté about what is out there. When seasons change we have the opportunity to learn and grow and experience God's grace in new ways. That is the joy of change. Even with the tears that may threaten as we contemplate days gone by, we can look forward to what lies ahead with the hope we have in Christ.
Stop.
Another Five Minute Friday with Gypsy Mama (sorry I missed last week)!
Hi, stopping by from Five Minute Friday. Yes, I agree that change is somewhat bittersweet!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful sister! I feel those bittersweet feelings with Spring coming to an end. Oh how I wish it would stay Spring forever but I know that His plan is perfect and something great lay in the distance with each new season.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully said, indeed. I completely agree that change is bittersweet. Life needs to change in order for us to grow but it's not always easy. I like things to be "normal" but I need to put all my trust in Him.
ReplyDeleteChange is bittersweet, but also comforting and predictable, as times and seasons.
ReplyDelete@ Miranda - I once read - Normal is only a setting on the dryer. :)
So beautiful...there is such a tension between things past and things to come. It makes me really appreciate the moment so much more.
ReplyDeleteFor this girl who hates change this was much needed. I enjoy reading your writing :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post. Especially those last few lines. I love and am thankful for this, too: "When seasons change we have the opportunity to learn and grow and experience God's grace in new ways."
ReplyDeleteSeasons of life. All in the hand of Christ! Great post!
